HOW TO GET TO CUENCA

For most of our international guests, we recommend flying into Guayaquil's airport: José Joaquín de Olmedo International, as it typically offers the easiest flight options. From Guayaquil, Cuenca is about a 4-hour drive. We recommend contacting Operazuaytur via WhatsApp at +593 96 777 3871 to coordinate transportation directly to Cuenca.

You can also fly directly into Cuenca's airport: Mariscal Lamar International, but depending on where you’re traveling from, this may require an additional layover or connecting flight. Either option works, so choose whichever route is most convenient for your travel plans.

Make the most of your trip! Cuenca is a beautiful city full of history, incredible food, and places to explore. If you have some extra time before or after the wedding, here are a few of our favorite things to see and do.

Be sure to stop by the iconic blue-domed Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepción.

The historic buildings, bridges, and Puente Roto make this one of our favorite areas to explore on foot.

We especially recommend going around sunset.

The museum also has archaeological ruins and beautiful outdoor gardens to explore.

It’s a great place to see everyday life in the city, browse local produce, and try some Ecuadorian food.

Just outside of Cuenca, the park is known for its dramatic mountain landscapes, lakes, and hiking trails. Bring layers because it can get chilly!

Tux vs. Suit: What's the Difference?

Dress to celebrate! We invite our guests to dress in formal attire for the celebration. Think elegant dresses and gowns, suits, or tuxedos. Both the ceremony and reception will take place outdoors under tents, so we recommend comfortable shoes for dancing and a light jacket or wrap in case the evening gets chilly. We’ve also included a few inspiration guides below to help you plan your look.

March 11, 2027 - March 12, 2027

We’re kicking off the wedding weekend with a little getaway to <a href="https://www.intikamari.com/en" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Inti Kamari in Yunguilla</a>! We’ll arrive in the early afternoon, spend the day enjoying the property, have dinner together, stay overnight, and share breakfast the following morning before heading back to Cuenca.

Guests will be responsible for the cost of their overnight stay or day pass, as well as any food, drinks, or additional personal expenses. Please let us know whether you plan to stay overnight or join us for the day, and we’ll coordinate everything with Inti Kamari.

We can’t wait to spend some extra time together before the wedding!

March 15, 2027 - March 20, 2027

We’re heading to the Galápagos after the wedding! We’ll be traveling from Guayaquil on Monday, March 15, 2027 and returning on Saturday, March 20, 2027. Anyone who would like to join us is absolutely welcome, whether it’s for the full trip or just a few days.

This will be an optional, self-funded trip, so each guest will be responsible for their own flights, accommodations, meals, activities, and other expenses.

Closer to the date, we’ll share our itinerary along with hotel and activity recommendations so you can plan as much or as little of the trip with us as you’d like.

Where to stay in Galapagos

Hotel Ninfa

<a href="https://www.booking.com/Share-WF1IDX" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Hotel Ninfa</a> will be the bride and groom’s home base during our time in the Galápagos. Located in the heart of Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island, just steps from the waterfront and main pier, it’s a beautiful and convenient place to enjoy everything the island has to offer. Guests are welcome to stay here as well or choose another nearby accommodation.

El Barranco Galapagos

For guests looking for a more elevated stay, <a href="https://www.booking.com/Share-iYwb4k" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">El Barranco Galapagos</a> is another beautiful option nearby. Located on the waterfront in Puerto Ayora, this boutique hotel offers a more upscale experience with beautiful views, a pool, and easy access to the pier, restaurants, and the heart of town. It is a higher-priced option than Hotel Ninfa, but a great choice for anyone looking for a little extra comfort during their stay in the Galápagos.

There are plenty of hotels and Airbnb's in the town of Puerto Ayora. The closer you stay to these two hotels, the closer you will be to the bride and groom.
