Make the most of your trip! Cuenca is a beautiful city full of history, incredible food, and places to explore. If you have some extra time before or after the wedding, here are a few of our favorite things to see and do.

Historic Center & Parque Calderón

Start in the heart of Cuenca and wander through its historic streets, plazas, cafés, and shops. Be sure to stop by the iconic blue-domed Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepción.

Río Tomebamba & El Barranco

Take a relaxing walk along the Tomebamba River and enjoy some of the prettiest views in the city. The historic buildings, bridges, and Puente Roto make this one of our favorite areas to explore on foot.

Mirador de Turi

Head up to Turi for panoramic views of Cuenca and the surrounding mountains. We especially recommend going around sunset.

Pumapungo Museum

A great place to learn more about Ecuadorian and Andean history and culture. The museum also has archaeological ruins and beautiful outdoor gardens to explore.

Mercado 10 de Agosto

For a more local experience, stop by one of Cuenca’s traditional markets. It’s a great place to see everyday life in the city, browse local produce, and try some Ecuadorian food.

Parque Nacional Cajas

If you have an extra day, Cajas is well worth the trip. Just outside of Cuenca, the park is known for its dramatic mountain landscapes, lakes, and hiking trails. Bring layers because it can get chilly!
